My first cyberpunk album, NEOHUMAN I is my venture into the world of cyberpunk and futuristic themes. Each song has it's own unique sound, crafted without care for the limitations of conventional genres.

Featured below is a visual experience of NEOHUMAN I, along with a short description of the concept behind each individual track.

1. Tokyo 3099 is the entry track to the album, written to lead the listener into the world of Tokyo City, set in the year 3099. The synth sounds were designed in a way to showcase the grandeur of the city.

2. Bionic Geisha is my take on a battle track for 2 cyborg geishas battling it out. The drum patterns have roots in trap music while the traditional Japanese instruments take control of the melody. This juxtaposition of heritage and technology is one of the main pillars of cyberpunk culture. The melodies are designed to showcase the graceful of the geishas, even in the midst of battle.

​3. 9903 is an experimental track that explores the use of church chants and Mongolian Throat Singing to reflect an ominous atmosphere. The name 9903 is cryptic and is a reflection of the mysterious nature of secret societies embedded within the cyberpunk civilisation.

4. eTre is a track dedicated to celebrating the life of the sole tree left in the entire of human civilisation. The melodies reflect the wonders of the nature. The percussion elements were crafted from the sound of a singular droplet of water, paying homage to the source of life.

​5. Ronin is another battle track, only this time I bring in some of my metal influences with the sound design. The guttural and undulating synth is my take on an evolved electric guitar sound that is unhinged and aggressive. The drum patterns are a blend of rhythm ideas from trap and metal music. The track is about 2 ronin that battle each other and the melodies of the shakuhachi strives to showcase their Bushido Spirit. Even in the year 3099.

6. The Collective is a track about a hive mind, a collection of consciousness working together as one. The use of polyrhythms and polyphony represents the concept of multiple trains of thought working harmoniously together. The last part of the track features an auditory demonstration of a human's ascend to higher consciousness, to join The Collective, as a Neohuman.

​7. Mr Trojan is about the story of a computer virus who is sent by The Collective to sabotage the The Corporation. Along the way, he faces an identity crisis as shown in the monologue within the song. However, he musters his courage, reboots, and marches on.

8. Extinction is an experimental track that explores the idea of human extinction caused by an unknown entity of pure evil. The track seeks to portray the chaos created when such a being appears and wreaks havoc. The breakdown in the second part of the track is inspired by metal breakdowns and cinematic hits.

9. The Corporation is a concept not foreign to the people of today. It is a representation of the privileged, the blessed and the powerful. The first portion of the track is sound designed to reflect the sounds you hear when you take a shuttle up to The Corporation's megastructure in the sky. It is inspired by the sounds we hear when we take the modern day lift. The rest of the track reflects the wondrous view of the open sky and the city below, a privilege belonging to those of higher standing. Both figuratively and literally.

​10. Sunset Drive is the last track in the album and being able to get to this point literally felt like I was on the last stretch of the drive home. And that's what this synthwave inspired track is about. A relaxed drive back home, basking in the glow of the sun as it waves goodbye from the horizon. The view of eventide, what a blessing.
